The cooperation between ALVO and BioCote® has rendered an innovative paneling system for operating rooms. The new paneling system provides the right protection against the spread of bacteria, fungi and mildew and significantly contributes to the reduction in the spread of infections in hospital.

Thanks to this absolutely new technology, in the production process here ALVO applies ions of silver for the coating of the panels, innovation can enter the operating rooms. During the production process an anti-microbial layer is created on the panel surface. This layer inhibits the spread of bacteria up to 99,9% and is active for 24 hours..
ALVO paneling system out of stainless steel with BioCote® coating is provided with permanent protection against bacteria, fungi and mildew, including Staphylococcus aureus, which is resistant to methycyline, as well as salmonella, colibacillus and legionella.
The application of BioCote® technology has rendered a new paneling system providing permanent protection and reduced risk of cross-contamination and infection of the surroundings.
• ALVO system consists of wall panels, ceiling panels, doors and windows, glazing as well as auxiliary components such as a surgical wash-stands or cabinets.
• ALVO paneling system provides effective protection against the spread of bacteria colonies, reduces the costs of maintaining the operating theatres aseptic as rooms equipped with the system are easy and quick to clean and disinfect, this results in lower rates of infections contracted during the operation.

How does BioCote® technology work?

Upon contact between the bacteria and BioCote® layer, the ions of silver bind the enzymes and inhibit their activity. The enzymes cannot
act properly and the bacteria show reduced ability to generate energy. Such bacteria which cannot generate energy is not able to proliferate and ceases to exist.

Benefits from the application of silver

Silver is the active agent in BioCote® technology. This agent has numerous applications in health care – it makes up a perfect microbe fighting agent, which, at the same time, exhibits low toxicity with regard to other organisms.

Thanks to its unique features, silver is not washed out of BioCote® layer and maintains the same activity, therefore it retains its properties during the entire lifetime of the paneling system. Silver does not act as the antibiotics do. So far no information on bacteria getting immune to the silver ions has ever been provided.
